GAUGE

  • Standard Gauge: 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm)wide x 3.5 inches (9 cm) tall for 1 pattern repeat with larger needles
  • Tighter Gauge: 3 1/2 inches (9 cm) wide x 3 1/4 inches (8.3 cm) tall for 1 pattern repeat with larger needles
  • Looser Gauge: 4 inches (10 cm) wide x 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm) tall for 1 pattern repeat with larger needles

SIZING
The Cloud Bloom Cardigan features an intricate stitch pattern with a large repeat. At the standard gauge, one full
pattern repeat measures 3 3/4 inches (9.5cm) in width. If the body width were graded partway through a stitch repeat, it
would disrupt the continuity of the motif and significantly compromise the appearance of the style at the center front of the body. For this reason, the body width grades by one complete repeat at each size step (= two repeats in total
circumference).
Because of this constraint, the pattern is written in three base sizes (size I, II & III) in the standard gauge, and two
alternate gauge options are provided to cover the in-between sizes. This approach allows the cardigan to cover a wider
size range while preserving the integrity and visual balance of the stitch pattern.

  • Looser : 3745, 53 in, 93.6114, 134 cm

  • Looser: 20 1/421, 22 in, 51.353.3, 55.5 cm

CONSTRUCTION METHOD

  • Body: The front and back panels are knit bottom up in one piece to the underarm, then separated into front and back panels and seamed at the shoulders.
  • Sleeves: Knit separately and sewn to the body. Each sleeve begins with a provisional cast-on at the cuff transition and is worked up to the sleeve cap. Stitches are then picked up to knit the cuff and bound off at the sleeve opening using an invisible bind-off.
  • Placket: Knit separately in one piece and sewn to the body.
