Pegasus, the winged stallion of Greek mythology, child of Poseidon and Medusa, has been the inspiration for poets worldwide, ancient and modern. He has been depicted in pottery, paintings, and sculptures; and now, he races among the clouds in these fingerless mitts!

Cloud Racer is knit in two contrasting colors. The horse’s mane and tail are added at the end, using duplicate stitch or basic embroidery. For extra magic, add a horn and make the horse into a unicorn.

The mitts are approximately 7.75” in circumference at the given gauge. For additional sizes, please adjust needle size/yarn weight.

This pattern assumes familiarity with stranded knitting in the round, reading a colorwork chart, increases/decreases, and picking up stitches.

The samples were knit in Knit Picks Stroll. They require approximately 135 yards/125 meters of MC (the color of the sky) and 110 yards/100 meters of CC1 (the color of the horse and clouds). The mane/tail/horn use less than 10 yards/meters.
