Cloud Shawl

A gauzy shawl, a cloud of silk mohair, a dream to wear…
So easy to knit, that even the unexperienced knitter can overcome this pattern. 4 balls Önling No 10, 840 meters / 920 yards of yarn, a cloud of lightness and warmth. The shawl is large and yet so light, that it can be pulled through one of my finger rings. I’ve moved in with the Cloud Shawl, into the fall, into the time when it’s nice to wear a shawl around my neck every day. A shawl you can use for everyday use and at parties, with jeans. Perfect for covering bare shoulders.

Designed by Katrine Hannibal for Önling.

Materials
100 g / 4 balls Önling No 10, 70% mohair, 30% silk, 25 g = approx. 230 yards (210 meters), weight: lace

Worked with one strand throughout.

Recommended circular needles size 4½ and 6 mm / US 7 and 10.
The 6 mm / US 10 needle is only for binding off.

2 stitch markers

Gauge 15 sts and 36 rows in garter stitch on needle size 4½ mm / US 7 = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches

Procedure
The shawl is worked from the middle (top), outwards and down. You increase 2 stitches at the beginning of every row. In between, increases are made throughout rows, so the shawl gets a nice shape and sits well. The shawl is worked back and forth in garter stitch and a simple lace pattern. A nice lacy edge finishes the shawl.
