Play with the woolly texture of boucle yarn enhanced by the use of garter stitch to create a fluffy and unique fabric. The finished top has a slight negative ease finished with a peter pan collar and cap sleeves to add a vintage ‘50s style.

This garment is knit flat then sewn together for the front and back pieces. Cap sleeves are knit in the round initially then knit flat and sewn to the main body. The rounded neckline features a placket to accommodate the peter pan collar with ribbing lining the placket and knit around the edge of the collar. The peter pan collar knit as a separate piece and sewn into the neckline.

The pattern features four different sizes (waist sizes between 71 cm and 99 cm and bust sizes between 89 and 120). The example pictured is size 1.

This pattern requires 5-6 skeins of boucle yarn, Undyed Mohair Chunky yarn from McCulloch and Wallis was used but any boucle yarn will work to give the fluffy design. For the ribbing a K2xP2 rib was used in Wool and the Gang’s Feeling Good Yarn in the colour blonde beige. Cicular needles were used in 4mm and 3.5mm with 5 DPNs in the same sizes.
