The Cloudburst shawl is a garter stitch asymmetrical triangle shape with panels of lace presented in 2 style versions. It is designed for fingering weight yarns with easy customisation to different yarn weights and lace content. This design was created during the Whackalong MKAL 2019 aimed at encouraging the use of handspun yarns, and is also great for using mini skeins, stash-busting, and using up any leftovers from other projects. I do recommend a solid colour for the lace panels, but all other colour styles and spin styles are suitable for the main body of the shawl so get creative!

Along with written instructions, charts are provided, as well as a ticksheet for planning your knit and keeping track of your progress.

Yarn
VERSION 1 - Alternating panels of lace and solid garter stitch sections.
You will need around one and a half times as much CC as MC.
MC: 100g fingering weight yarn (sample used 93g Qing Fiber Supersoft Sock which is 400m/437y per 100g/3.53oz col. Hurricane)
CC: 70g fingering weight yarn (sample used 66g Malabrigo Sock which is 402m/440y per 100g/3.53oz col. Light of Love)
VERSION 2 - Alternating panels of lace and striped garter stitch sections.
You will need almost 4 times as much CC as MC. For a shawl the size of my Version 1 sample (approx. 35g MC and 130g CC).
