This crochet pattern is SIZE INCLUSIVE and aim to INTERMEDIATE CROCHETERS or ADVANCED BEGINNERS looking to learn new techniques!
Blocking is essential for this garment, and the reason why it is a more advanced make.
Sizing:
Because of the construction of this pullover, this pattern does not come with standard measurements but with a given set of width/length combinations possible.
For the circumference of the pullover at the bust:
96 (120,144,168) cm
For each size, you can pick amongst 4 length option (from cropped to oversized length):
41 (49,57,65) m
Yarn & Yardage
Sport Weight yarn. I used Baby Merino by Drops(50g=175m, 100% superwash merino) in colour 37-Lavender.
Length L1 (cropped): 1141 (1320, 1500, 1690) m
Length L4 (oversized length): 1570 (1850, 2140, 2430) m
To hold two strands of yarn together, I recommend two strands of lace yarn.
For example: Lana Grossa Cool Wool Lace (50g=400 m, 100% merino) and Mayflower Super Kid Silk (25g=195m, 76% mohair, 24% silk). The yardage is here reported for each size as Lana Grossa Cool Wool Lace m, Mayflower Super Kid Silk m:
Cropped: 1200, 1170 m
Oversized length: 1600,1560 m
Construction
The Clouds and Waves pullover is crocheted in four different panels: two panels for the body, and two panels for the sleeves. These panels are crocheted lengthwise - that is, the rows build the width of the panel, and the stitches build the length of the panel.
The body panels are seamed together at the shoulder. Then, the collar is crocheted onto the body directly. Sleeves panels are crocheted separately and sewn into the body. The sleeves are also crocheted lengthwise, and with the use of short rows for a better shaping. The sides are seamed. Bottom ribbing and cuffs are then crocheted into the body.
