This dreamy shawl is warm and so, so, so, soft! Made with a filigree-fine, lace-weight yarn of silk and kid mohair, it knits-up light as air. Though the shawl is generously proportioned it will never weigh you down. Fine yarn and big needles makes this a quick project! The combination of kid and silk creates a knit fabric of ethereal, transparency. When the shawl is folded, the overlapping colours conspire to form pattern and dimension.
So much going on and still a breeze to knit! The shawl is knit in easy stocking stitch on the bias. A repetition of increases followed by decreases make the diamond shape. You may follow the pattern’s colour sequence exactly or make up your own striping pattern as you fancy. If you choose to follow the stripe pattern as written you will need four beautiful colours of shibui silk cloud, but if you are making up your own colour combo or using all one colour three skins (or 900m/990yds) should do the trick!
