The simplicity of these socks shows off a handpaint, a handspun, or a self-striping yarn without distracting from the yarn. When worked in a subtle color, they are especially nice for men (at least, the men who prefer fewer “details” in their socks). The side rib gives texture and stretch without being fussy, and knits up quickly, which is important when you’re knitting men’s sizes. Another advantage of ribbing all the way down, is that it will fit narrow to wide feet.
