Cluaran Sweater
In 2014 I traveled to Scotland with my parents and sister. My parents had lived in a very small trailer in a very small village in 1963, the year my sister was born. It was a kind of pilgrimage for them and it was a trip filled with reminiscing, laughter, and love. I fell in love with Scotland immediately. When Gingersnap approached me to work on a collaboration of Scottish inspired patterns I couldn’t wait to get started. Cluaran is the Scottish gaelic word for thistle.
This sweater is seamless, worked top down and in the round using sock/fingering weight yarn. The sample was made using Gingersnap’s Lush fingering yarn. There is colourwork in the yoke, hem and cuffs.
