At the link below I offer 2 patterns. One is with a row of Single Crochets as a base to the rest of the pattern which is made up of only rows of Cluster V stitches and another version without.

This stitch pattern swatch is 7 x 9 inches and can be used to create many different patterns including blankets and scarves.

Cluster V-Stitch. - Work (dc2tog, ch1, dc2tog) into same space or stitch.

Cluster (dc2tog in same stitch) -
YO, Insert Hook into stitch, YO, Pull through, YO pull through 2 loops only (2 left on hook)
YO, Insert Hook into same stitch, YO, Pull through, YO pull through 2 loops, YO pull
through all 3 loops.
