Pricing update: I have increased my prices to more accurately represent the work that has gone into the making of my patterns. All my patterns have increased in prices, however my newer designs have increased more than my old ones, as I feel I have learned a lot over the years and the quality of my newer designs is higher. The price listed reflects what I believe is fair for the work put into the design, however I understand that the price increases may be inaccessible to some and am offering some tiered discounts for those that need them.

A “Choose What You Pay” model is available for this pattern, allowing both financial accessibility and fair pricing. The buyer may pay what they are able while still valuing the hard work invested to create this design. Use the codes below in order to pay the price listed after each. Choose whichever price works best for you!

  • No Code – Full Price = $11.00 CAD
  • PK10 – 10% off = $9.90 CAD
  • PK20 – 20% off = $8.80 CAD
  • PK30 – 30% off = $7.70 CAD

I also offer a Buy 3, Get 1 Free discount! Add any 4 of my patterns to your cart, and use the code BUY3GET1 to get the 4th pattern free! Note: the free pattern will be the lowest priced pattern.

The Coast to Coast Beanie is a new design that is part of a collaboration with an East Coast indie dyer (Wool & Wanderlust), who has created 4 colourways based on the East Coast (her home) and West Coast (my home) of Canada (hence the name)! It is a simple, classic folded brim beanie that could be worn in fall and winter, and with or without a pom pom! The hat is knit flat using garter stitch, with a I-cord edging, and seamed up the edges. This design is wonderful to showcase any worsted yarn, whether it is solid, tonal, variagated, or striped!

Sizes offered:
Adult Large (22-25 inch head circumference)
Adult Medium (19-23 inch head circumference)
Adult Small (18-22 inch head circumference)
Child (17-20 inch head circumference)
Toddler (16-19 inch head circumference)
6-12 M (14-17 inch head circumference)
3-6 M (12-15 inch head circumference)
Newborn (10-12 inch head circumference)

These sizes are given with their approximate head measurement range, please make sure to base your sizing off of the measurements, not the age range. Due to the stretchy nature of garter, I recommend choosing a size where you fall towards the upper end of the range to make sure the hat is appropriately snug.

Needles recommended:
5 mm / US 8 / UK 6 - can use straight or circular needles
May need other size needles to meet gauge

Gauge:
17 sts x 32 rows = 4 x 4 “ (10 x 10 cm), garter stitch, worked flat, unstretched

Yarn recommended:
One colour of worsted weight yarn (I used KnitPicks Swish worsted (110 yds/50g) for two of my protoypes, and the hand dyed yarn for the collaboration sample (220 yds/100g))

Kits are available from Wool & Wanderlust which include the skein of worsted yarn, the pattern, a faux fur pom pom and a cute little drawstring project bag for only $45 CAD!

Yardage recommended:
Adult Large - 216 yds/98g
Adult Medium - 190 yds/86g
Adult Small - 165 yds/75g
Child - 140 yds/64g
Toddler - 120 yds/55g
6-12 M - 95 yds/43g
3-6 M - 75 yds/34g
Newborn - 55 yds/25g

Yardage is an approximation and is calculated using the recommended stitch and row counts. Allow for extra yardage if choosing to do any modification. The yardage can vary depending on your gauge and knitting, so I always recommend buying extra in case you require more yardage.
