This is a crochet Coaster and coaster holder pattern. It was written using standard US terminology.

APPROXIMATE SIZE OF THE FINISHED ITEMS:
Coaster: 4.5” (11.4 cm)
Coaster holder: 5” (12.7 cm) is the diameter measured across the center of the base. And 2” (5 cm) tall.

YARN:
I used Medium weight (#4) 100% cotton yarn.

Here are the approximate amounts of yarn you will need.
Coaster: 0.51 oz (14.5 g), 27 yds (25 m) each.
Coaster holder: 1.17 oz (33 g), 62 yds (57 m).

MATERIALS AND TOOLS:
4 mm crochet hook
Scissors
Tapestry Needle
Stitch marker
A 26” (66 cm) long string or jute rope

Gauge:
Gauge is not crucial, but the circumference for the first 7 rounds is 3” (7.6 cm), measured across the center. More details included in the PDF.

Basic skills needed: magic circle, chain, single crochet, double crochet, fasten off, and weave in ends.
