Round coasters measuring 11cm in diameter. They are made by knitting a long i-cord then rolling it into a spiral. The pattern can be easily altered to make smaller or larger mats or placemats.

The instructions include step-by-step photos showing how to sew the coasters together.

You will need:

  • Cascade 220 yarn in your chosen colour. Grey (8509), Mineral Blue (8311), Mellow Mauve (8863) and Pesto (0980) are used in the photos. You will need approximately 11g of yarn per coaster.
  • 4mm (US 6) double-pointed needles.
  • A tapestry needle.
  • A sewing needle and thread in a similar colour to your yarn.

Techniques you should be familiar with before using this pattern:

  • I-cord.
