Inspired by the effortlessly cool grunge style of the 90’s,
this top was designed as an easy to wear, easy to knit wardrobe staple. Add your own personal touch with endless color combinations and lengths. The top down, seamless method of construction allows you to try it on as you go to ensure a perfect fit. When you reach the striped section, feel free to change up the width and placement of stripes, or eliminate them altogether. You can even achieve a color-blocking effect by knitting whole sections in a solid color. I recommend reading through the pattern before beginning so you can plan any color and pattern alterations ahead of time. This is meant to be a fun, mindless knit, so don’t stress about perfection or following the pattern to a T. There is wiggle room for personalization. I highly recommend blocking your finished top for a loose, draped silhouette at the end.

You have the option of knitting this pattern in DK weight or a light worsted weight. It is worth noting that DK weight will produce a more fitted look, and worsted will be looser. Blocking is highly recommended to achieve a draped look with either option. This pattern starts out very fitted, with negative ease through the bust and continuously increases as you knit on. If you prefer a positive ease through the bust, you may want to knit one size up or include bust darts. Whichever you prefer.
