Brand New Day when worked with the (optional) traditional granny stitch finish is also a perfect companion to the Coffs Bloom Square!
I’ve included photo tutorials for standing stitches, front post stitches, and optional invisible joins. Additional photos are included where I think they may be useful, and round by round images. Email support is also available.
The Coffs Bloom square is a fabulous addition to your latest blanket wip - or to any project that uses crochet squares!
I originally designed this floral afghan square pattern for a commissioned artwork. I live on the beautiful Coffs Coast in New South Wales, Australia, and I was asked by our local Council to create a tree wrap for a town centre yarnbombing event. The goal was to create some colourful fibre joy in these crazy covid times, and hopefully bring a smile to some faces. I loved the idea, and the theme: Spring!
I must have made this square at least 60 times now, and never the same colours twice; I just love experimenting! I’ve listed the colours used in the square with the olive centre and apricot petals, and if you’d like my other colour recipes, just give me a shout. Otherwise, I’d encourage you to follow your heart :)
Finished square using recommended DK yarn and hook size 4mm/G measures 8.5”/22cm
