The pumpkin is crocheted flat as a rectangle, then sewn together and shaped using stuffing and a stick or crocheted stem.
Recommended hook size: 3 mm. If you usually crochet very tightly or very loosely, you can use a larger or smaller hook to get a firm (but not stiff) fabric. The finished pumpkin should hold its shape when stuffed, but still feel soft and squishy.
Exact gauge is not crucial. Your pumpkin may be slightly larger or smaller depending on your yarn, hook, and how tightly you crochet.
Each finished pumpkin (with stem and filling) weighs approximately 11 g.
To make a bigger or smaller pumpkin, simply start with more or fewer chain stitches and repeat the pattern rows more or fewer times.
One 50 g skein is enough for several pumpkins.
Pattern is written in English (US terminology).
You may sell finished pumpkins made with this pattern, but may not share or distribute the pattern itself.
