The sweater I knit for this design, the one you see here, was sitting on one of my dress forms, Rose, for ages, waiting patiently. My husband walked in not long after I had put it on Rose, and said, “That looks collegiate.” Hm. You know what? He was right. Rose wore Collegiate while I knit and released other designs. Then Nicole, the other dress form, wore the sweater for a while. It looked better on Rose, and Nicole knew it. It looks better yet on a real person, don’t you think?

Knit in one piece to the armholes, then splits for back and fronts. The front neck opening begins on the same row as the armholes. Sleeves can be worked flat from the cuff up, and seamed later, or with short rows and in the round from the shoulder down—both options are included in this pattern.
