Who doesn’t love the look of cables? This hat features a braided cable on each side for an eye catching, yet simple design. The braided motifs create a ruched effect and with the extra long length - it makes a modern, fashionable slouchy beanie.

A quick knit, this pattern is perfect for first time cable knitting. Using worsted weight yarn and working in the round, this pattern consists of an 8 row repeat and a simple decrease pattern for the crown. The hat may be worked as is for a slightly slouchy version or fewer repeats may be made for a more fitted hat. Using a wool or wool blend yarn will produce a very warm hat for snowy trips or skiing.

The pattern includes both a child and adult version.

This hat uses roughly 150 yards of worsted weight yarn and is knit in the round on US size 6 and size 8 needles. A 16 inch circular needle or double pointed needles are ideal. Double pointed needles are best for the decrease part of the pattern.
