Color by Number patterns are made with striping, picked up stitches, and a couple yarn-carrying tricks to make for as little finishing as possible, no complex techniques like stranded knitting or intarsia!

These colorful, modular, buttoning mitts/wrist-warmers, in squishy garter stitch, can be worn with one button left open as a thumbhole, or with all buttons fastened to keep the cold off your wrists.

The length around is completely customizable, to fit your hand, and the height is easily adjustable. Notes are included within the pattern for sewing them closed, if you want to skip the buttons, which you may prefer for better functionality as mitts.

Each mitt uses a very low yardage of sock weight yarn, so these are perfect for leftovers - or a great excuse to pick out five beautiful colors of Malabrigo Sock yarn and have tons left over for future projects!

Color chart
The color chart is given as a color-by-number grid, so that you can fill in the colors you want to use! At the end, you’ll find some blank drawings of the mitt with the color numbers filled in, so that you can break out the colored pencils and try out some ideas.

The approximate size of each mitt is 7 inches / 18 cm tall, 5.5{6.5, 7.5} inches / 14{16.5, 19} cm long (around the hand, un-stretched) for small{medium, large} hand sizes (which are around kid size{adult woman small, adult woman large}), or sized to fit your hands exactly.
