Description

Color Check is true to its roots. Just like the “color check” charts used for fast and easy color confirmation in print shops and design studios, this modular afghan knits quickly and is easy to execute.

The checked design is a breeze, because only one color is worked on a row. The easy slip stitch produces stockinette checks on the front and a striped reverse stockinette texture on the back.

Color blocks are worked in strips rather than individually. This minimizes seaming and ensures your work stays compact and portable. The three-needle bind-off looks polished, preserves drape and speeds up assembly.

While this design accommodates virtually any color strategy, it’s especially appealing in gradient, ombre and rainbow shades.

The pattern is written for the worsted weight yarn of your choice, but it can be adapted to other yarn weights. It includes directions for three versatile sizes and features a handy Quick Reference guide so you can readily adjust width, length and yardage if you wish.

Skill Level

Color Check is suited to any knitter who can cast on, knit, purl, slip stitches, pick up stitches and bind off.
