Originally designed for the attendees of The Loopy Ewe Spring Fling 2013, this sideways garter-stitch shawl pattern is now available for everyone.

As knit, the shawl measures 60” along top edge and 27” down center back. It is not blocked, but you can steam the lace edging if you feel the need to open it up a bit.

The shawl is a semi-circle shape and is knit sideways: you start with a few stitches at one side and work the edging as you knit. In the center section short rows are used to make the shawl sit nicely on your shoulders.

The simple lace edging is both charted and written out.

While the pattern has instructions for a worsted weight shawl, you can easily adapt this pattern for any weight yarn from fingering to bulky. Use a needle size appropriate for your yarn weight and follow the extra instructions for knitting according to the weight of your skein.
