This cowl uses one skein of Hedgehog Fibers Sock as the main color and six Mini Skeins as the shifting contrasting colors. The graphic design is created using slipped stitch patterns, also called mosaic knitting. The patterns are created using only one color per round.

I’ve designed this cowl to start with an easy slipped stitch pattern, then move to a slightly more difficult one, then on to an even more difficult one. By the time you get to the center chevron pattern, you’ll have a sense of how patterns develop in mosaic knitting, and knitting it will be simple and intuitive.

Many thanks to skeinsonmain for knitting the beautiful sample!
