Time for some knitting fun! Time to play with colour and think of knitting as something more than making garments.

In this tutorial, I have put together a colour exercise, using simple textural patterns and colours in a horizontal sequence, evoking a scene in nature. For my sketch, I imagined a deep pool at night, illuminated by moonlight.

Use your imagination to evoke an image that you would like to explore through colour knitting.Take your favourite colours--or whatever you have in your stash--and look at them in a new way. Begin to use them as a painter uses the paint palette.

Finished Size: Piece pictured measures 30 cm./12 in. wide and 56 cm./22.5 in. long.
