Pattern is available as part of a kit or in the book. It was also published in Knitter’s Magazine 24, Fall 1991, Alpine Knits, as Vienna Woods. The child’s size version is Jenna Louise.

Pattern can be knit as a pullover or cardigan.
Three sizes in 2-ply, 4 sizes in 3-ply yarn (on US size 10 1/2 needles, gauge 16 sts./= 4inches). Chest 46”, 50”, 55” or 39”, 42”, 45”, 48”.

All Philosopher’s Wool patterns start as tubes, which are then cut up the front and have button bands knitted on. All of the patterns can be made with either 2-ply worsted wt. or 3-ply aran weight yarn.
Yardage Requirements:
For either 2-ply or 3-ply yarn, the amount of skeins needed is the same. Total yardage amounts are for the 2-ply skeins.

  • 4 skeins MC (800 yds.) (black or dk. grey)
  • 7 skeins white for CC (1400 yds.) all dyed different colors with powdered drink mix (food safe acid dyes). OR 7 different coloured skeins.
