This pattern was originally published in “A Needle Pulling Thread” magazine in its first iteration knit with the glorious colours of Koigu yarn. It is being re-released in conjunction with my Zoom presentation on tips for knitting the garter tab for the Hands On Knitting Center. Workshop participants will receive a code to download this pattern for free until noon tomorrow, July 20 (Pacific Time)

After receiving a bag of beautiful Koigu yarns, I knew I wanted to design a shawl for my colour-loving friend, Diane. But not everyone loves colour as much as she does, so I knit a second shawl in a solid colour, using a different weight of yarn. Specific instructions are included for both versions, as well as notes on substituting other yarns. Gauge listed above shows the tension I used in the DK weight sample.
