A basic command used in sheepdog training is “Come-bye” which tells the dog to move clockwise. As this fun circular cowl incorporates a ‘houndstooth’ stitch the playful name seemed appropriate.

Worked in rows and rnds the houndstooth stitch creates a fabric with moderate drape, and the way this pattern is worked gives the ‘houndstooth’ a modern fresh look that I think crocheters will enjoy.

The pattern only uses simple stitches and is an easy stitch pattern to remember which makes it a great project to pick up and put down again - or to hook up whilst watching TV.

Beginner crocheters and those of more experience can enjoy some lovely mindful stitching to create an adjustable size cowl to wear as the seasons change.

Pattern available in UK or US crochet terminology.
