Comfort Blanket
Easy crochet blanket pattern for a cozy adult crochet blanket crocheted in assorted scraps of bulky (chunky) yarn to create a woven look. This is a stashbuster crochet blanket pattern to help you use up all those odd balls of chunky and worsted weight yarn, but you could easily make it in a variegated yarn without changing colour.
Easy crochet stitches and a one-row pattern repeat make this a perfect crochet project for all skill levels. I’ve also included a link to a video tutorial to help get you started.
This crochet pattern makes quite a large blanket - 47” x 37” - and is beautifully cosy, perfect for snuggling under on cozy nights in. The Comfort Blanket looks great draped over the arm of a chair for interior decoration and makes a great extra layer on the bed when it’s cold at night.
The stitches used in this big crochet blanket pattern are simple: USdc for the main part and USsc for the edging. The pattern is written in easy-to-follow terms with clear explanations. There are also crochet video tutorials (spoken in British crochet terms) for the first few rows to help get you started.
Materials:
At least 1100g/1200yds/1100m of assorted colors of bulky/chunky* yarn (you can also use occasional rows of heavy worsted weight yarn, and two strands of DK yarn held double)
• Size K10.5 (6.5mm) crochet hook
• Size J-10 (6mm) crochet hook (for Edging)
Finished size: approx 47” x 37” (120 x 94cm)
This easy crochet blanket pattern is written in both USA and British UK crochet terms (two separate Pdfs) with clear descriptions of the stitches. I’ve also included my crochet notes to ensure you can relax and crochet with confidence throughout.
You’ll receive a 2-page pattern Pdf (one in USA terms and one in UK terms) via email for instant download upon purchasing.
Happy Crocheting!
