Comfort Cowl
I designed this pattern to add that comforting warmth (hence the name) to my shoulders without making my armpits sweat by adding another sweater. This pattern has two versions: the original cowl and the slimmer turtleneck version. The techniques for this pattern include: Cable cast-on, garter stitch bands and of course making cables.
I would advise joining a new skein of yarn at one edge before joining the center front. This makes it less likely that one tail of the join will be able to work its way out as a result of the cowl being put on and taken off during the day.
