For me, comfort is combining warmth, easy knitting and lots of colour into a snuggly accessory which will keep me cosy on a cold day. This cowl is worked in the way I like to make my cowls (i.e. long and reasonably narrow which bunches up when worn) but you can adapt it to suit your own preferred style of cowl by just increasing the number of cast on stitches. I like rib at the ends but if you prefer a rolled edge, then just cast on and start knitting! For this cowl, I held a strand of DK weight yarn and a strand of my undyed yak cloud base together throughout and it created a lovely, large cowl which is soft, fluffy and oh so warm. If you aren’t a fan of fluffy yarns or aren’t able to wear them, then you could substitute the yak cloud for an undyed merino or yak laceweight yarn instead which would create a more drapey fabric but it may change the gauge too.

Materials
12 x 10g DK weight yarn – I used my own (HennyPennyMakes) hand dyed standard DK (10g = approx 22m)
1 x 50g skein of laceweight yarn - I used my yak cloud base (suri alpaca, merino, yak and silk) (50g = approx 400m) - you can substitute an equivalent lace weight yarn with similar yardage
6.00 mm circular needles (40cm length)
Gauge (before blocking): 4”x4” – 17 stitches and 24 rows
Dimensions (unblocked): 28cm width (56cm circumference) x 56cm length
