The Community Shawl is an easy, one-skein wonder that results in a full-size shawl. The shawl was knit using yarn I hand dyed myself via my indie yarn label, Tributary Yarns. The shawl is knit in Mountain Mohair lace weight single ply. 72% Kid Mohair and 28% silk.

I designed this shawl during the COVID19 quarantine. As with so many knitters, I have used my craft to help survive this challenging time. While I’m grateful for my online knitting community, I very much look forward to seeing my other community - friends and family- in real life soon.

The Community Shawl is a crescent shawl that starts with casting on just eleven stitches. The easy pattern consists of two garter stitch panels balanced with a center stockinette panel. Once you get the hang of it, you can sit back, relax, and Knitflix.

Required stitches include: yarn over, slipped stitches, knit, and purl. Instructions are provided for wrapping stitches on the stockinette panel to create easy texture and interest. Clearly written instructions are provided.

Substitutions for other based would work but would require additional yardage to achieve the same dimensions.
