A knapsack is invaluable for carrying belongings when riding a bike or traveling on the bus or subway without straining your arms or shoulders. But just because a knapsack is practical, Deborah Newton proves that it doesn’t have to be plain. For her version, Deborah chose lacy leaf patterns knitted in a naturally dyed cotton yarn from Nashua Handknits’ Natural Focus line. The sack features knitted straps, a drawstring opening, and a flap with a button closure. To keep small items secure, consider adding a cotton lining.
