These bed socks are a quick knit from the cuff down with worsted weight yarn using magic loop, 2 circulars, or double pointed needles. Knitter’s choice! Alternating bands of knits and purls create a scrunchy fabric that traps warm air at the ankle.

Finished sock circumference is 8 (8.75, 9.5) inches, for approximately women’s US 5-6-7 (7-8-9, 9-10.5) shoe size. I like them with zero to ½” negative ease, a bit looser than a normal sock.

They feature a contrasting heel and toe (you need the extra yardage to complete the socks). I’ve used two 50g cakes of Knit Circus Ringmaster Panoramic Gradient, and 35g of a 50g skein of contrast color for heels and toes.

These are a lighter version of my double-stranded Concentric Slipper Socks, but are still very cozy.

If you’d like to knit both the Bed Socks and the Slipper Socks, you can purchase both patterns together for $10. If you’ve already purchased one, the price for the other will be adjusted automatically.

Thanks to tech editor Amanda Woodruff, and test knitters Jacqueline Lydston, Denise Delagarza, and Ann Berg.

This pattern is also available through my Payhip store.
