The Conference Call Cardi is a project I dreamed up after working from home for a while due to covid restrictions. I was seated most of the time and during the rare occasions I had to join a video call I was looking for something to make my leggings and t-shirt wardrobe look presentable on short notice! This cardi works for anyone in a seated position most, or all, of the time. This includes people in wheelchairs! The cropped length means no fabric pooling at your hip. The short sleeves don’t get in the way of typing or of manual wheelchair operation. And the shawl collar is a subtle nod to a blazer lapel, giving the piece an easy, put together look.
The Conference Call Cardi is worked from the bottom up in one piece and split for the 2 front panels and the back. Shoulders are seamed and the collar is shaped with short rows. Sleeve are picked up and knit in the round.
