Confidette is a smart, cropped bolero and the perfect vintage-inspired layering piece!

It features a shaded garter stitch border with mitered corners, a simple neckline that won’t compete with the neckline of your favorite dress or top, and three-quarter length sleeves.

It’s seamless and worked top down, so it’s easy to customize the length.

Plus it’s a relatively fast knit in DK weight yarn. It’ll be your new favorite wardrobe staple!

Choose a size that is approx. 1 – 3” / 2.5 – 7.5cm larger than your full bust.

Gauge

22 sts / 28 rnds = 4” / 10cm in stockinette st using 3.75mm (US 5) needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.


Supplies

  • 3.75mm (US 5) 32” / 81cm or longer circular needles (for body)
  • 3.75mm (US 5) 40” / 100cm or longer circular needles (for border around body)
  • 3.75mm (US 5) dpns or circular needles (for your preferred method of working a small circumference in the rnd for sleeves)
  • optional: one size up dpns or circular needles (see note in Sleeve shaping section)
  • Stitch markers, including locking st markers
  • Scrap yarn, to place sts on hold

Techniques needed

cast on, Icelandic bind off (instructions provided), knit in the round and flat, short rows (instructions provided), knit, purl, basic increases and decreases, picking up stitches, changing colors.
