Conifer Socks
Say hello to Conifer Socks!
PATTERN DETAILS
Conifer Socks are a toe-up sock pattern featuring a bold, expanding lace motif inspired by the shape of evergreen branches. After casting on at the toe, the lace grows gradually across the upper foot, while the sole remains smooth in stockinette. Following the heel, mirrored lace panels continue up the front of the leg, and echoing lace elements begin to form at the back. Once your sock has reached the desired length, you’ll choose between a classic ribbed cuff with a stretchy bind-off or a more tailored folded cuff with a sewn finish.
SKILL LEVEL
Intermediate knitting abilities, some familiarity with sock knitting suggested. Pattern is both fully written and fully charted so you can work in your preferred format (or switch back and forth throughout the pattern).
YARN & NEEDLES
Use your favourite sock yarn that gets you close to gauge. Semi-solid or tonal colourways work especially well to show off the lace detail. Yardage will vary depending on your gauge, foot size, and any customizations. Sample socks used approx. 350y of Malabrigo Sock.
Suggested needles are 2.00mm/US 0 (or size to hit gauge)- pattern was written for long circular needles/magic loop, but confident knitters can substitute their preferred technique.
NOTE
Instructions are written for a woman’s medium, but adjustments for other sizes are easy to make. The pattern has been fully tech-edited and test-knit. If the folded cuff is new to you, don’t worry- step-by-step written and photo instructions are included!
