I designed these fingerless mitts while on an Irish Knitting Tour travelling through the Connemara region of Ireland. We learned the right twist used in these mitts in one of the knitting seminars during our trip.

This pattern makes a mitt approximately 7” in circumference, but they are very stretchy and the length is easily adjustable to fit a wide variety of hand sizes.

The left twist and right twist stitches used in these mitts are explained in the pattern.

The palm is knit in stockinette stitch to have a smooth gripping surface.
