This knitted horse is worked in separate pieces, stuffed and then sewn together. Worked in three yarns for a plush and soft product, this knitted toy features short-row shaping, embroidery, and grafting. (Interweave)

Yarns:

Classic Elite Montera Heathers (50% llama, 50% wool; 127 yd [116 m]/100 g): #3877 smoke (MC), 2 skeins.

Classic Elite Alpaca Sox Hand Dyes (60% alpaca, 20% merino, 20% nylon; 450 yd [411 m]/100 g): #1875 pebbles (CC1), 1 skein.

Classic Elite Lush (50% angora, 50% wool; 123 yd [112 m]/50 g): #4413 black (CC2), 2 skeins.

Needles: Size 7 (4.5 mm): two 16” or 24” circulars (cir), or one of each length. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers (m); stitch holders; tapestry needle; two ⅞“ oval buttons; 12” × 12” square of black felt; sewing needle; black sewing thread; batting; 4 plastic flexible drinking straws.

Gauge: 16 sts and 22 rnds = 4” in St st with 1 strand each of MC and CC1 held tog.
