Contrast Point has a beautiful, flowing symmetry to it and is easy to memorise and create. Making a hat takes no time at all!
Using a main colour (MC) and a contrasting colour (CC) makes this pattern shine and creates a striking design no matter which colours you pick.
Chunky and super chunky yarns vary greatly in thickness so I have included instructions for my own hand dyed yarn (indicated in the gauge instructions and available from Twinkly Knits on Etsy) as well as two other widely available yarns. You may have to play about with needle size and stitch count/round repeats if using a different brand of yarn.
The round repeat is 8 stitches so it is easy to scale up or down. The pattern creates a fitted beanie but you can easily make it into a more slouchy or generously sized hat.
Each version can be made using 100g of the main colour and less than 20g of the contrasting colour so it’s perfect for helping to use up part skeins.

Finished hat fits head circumference of 58cm - 62cm with a height of 20cm.
