I always like being able to wear an accessory more than one way, so I set out to create a simple pattern for a great looking scarf, er…cowl. Or is it a neckwarmer? Answer: It’s whatever you want it to be!

Made with simple stitches, this scarf works up quickly. Work it in bulky yarn or double strands of worsted weight. Wear it two (or more) ways to suit your style. Crochet pattern is 3 PDF pages, written in step-by-step instructions (in American English, using U.S. crochet terms).

Approximate finished size: 7 inches x 48 inches

Skill level: Easy (Level 2)

Materials:
205 yards (188 m) bulky weight (5) yarn. Alternatively about 410 yards (375 m) worsted weight (4) yarn can be used with two strands held together.
Size K-10.5 (6.50 mm) crochet hook
2 Large coordinating buttons, 1.25-1.5” (3-4 cm) diameter
Large-eye blunt needle for weaving ends and sewing buttons

This pattern follows the standards and guidelines for crochet and knitting compiled by Craft Yarn Council. They can be found at yarnstandards.com
