Co-op: cooperation
Knitting is always cooperation: between yarn and needles, mind and body, real life and imagination, pattern and project, maker and receiver, and ……..

Notes:
A shawlette worked in an easy slip-stich pattern to create the length of it. Afterwards stitches are picked up and worked in stockinette from the side of the shawlette to create a contrast line, and waves are worked for a beautiful edge.

Size:
The shawlette is approx. 210cm/2y in length and 26cm/10.25” wide after wet blocking.

Yarn:
The sample shown is worked with 2 strands of yarn.
510m/560y of fingering weight merino yarn Anina from Filcolana 420m/460y for 100g
510m/560y of Drops kid-silk yarn/ or Tilia from Filcolana 880m/960y for 100g

MC: 250m/275y off-white merino yarn held together with an off-white kid-silk yarn
CC1: 200m/220y grey merino yarn held together with an off-white kid-silk yarn
CC2: 60m/65y yellow merino yarn held together with an off-white kid-silk yarn
Other yarns can be used, but keep in mind that using other yarn qualities might lead to a different overall look of the shawlette. It can also affect the amount of yarn needed, if you knit the shawlette longer and wider.

Materials:
A 5.0mm/US8 and 80cm/32” circular needle
A removable stitch-marker
Additional removable stitch-markers to mark the inc/dec rows

Gauge:
24 sts x 38 rows in slip-stitch pattern over 10cm x 10cm/4” x 4”

We work together
While visiting Marianne at her beautiful place in Avignon, we went sightseeing, and at a small craftsman shop we saw a shawl hanging outside the shop.
Gaby asked:
„Can this woven pattern be worked with needles?“
Marianne and I answered:
„Sure!“
