Coorie In For Advent Poncho
The Coorie In For Advent Poncho is knitted from the top down holding two strands of fingering weight yarn, beginning with the cowl neck. Short rows are added to shape the back of the neck, before continuing to work the body in stocking stitch placing raglan increases at front, back and sides.
The poncho is knitted inside out, meaning that the reverse stockinette side (the wrong side while knitting) will become the right side when worn, then finished with a 5cm/2” rib border. Yarns are held double throughout: the cowl neck is knitted holding two strands of MC, while mini skeins are added by magic knots and held together to marl the body.
Cast on and knit your cowl neck while waiting to open Day 1 of your advent calendar…

For this pattern, you will need 24 x 20g mini skeins in a fingering weight sock base, along with a full 100g skein (366m/400yds) in the same or similar base to complement the colour scheme of your advent yarn as your MC. If your advent yarn is still a mystery at cast on, choose a neutral shade for your MC. Alternatively, scrap sock yarn in a fingering weight would also be a good substitute.
