Coral Tides is my first shawl pattern. It is an asymmetrical shawl knit side to side, starting at one point with 2 stitches and ending at the other end. It is the perfect shawl for that random skein of fingering yarn that is too pretty for socks. This shawl will show off all the colors of that crazy dyed yarn or give a solid or tonal yarn an elegant look. The overall effect is a lightweight, lacy flowing fabric great for a cool summer evening or an air-conditioned room. The pattern is quick to memorize and great for social or TV knitting. It’s perfect for a beginner looking for something other than straight garter or stockinette, but is visibly pleasing and changes enough to keep your interest.

The pattern is written and includes check boxes to keep track of your progress.

It is also easily adjustable and can be made larger or smaller, depending on your preference or how much yarn you have.

My sample is made using one color. However, the shawl could easily be made using mini skeins, or leftovers. The possibilities are endless!
