The Year of Hats is back, this time featuring our latest yarn in the Germantown line, Germantown DK! The Year of DK Hats will feature 12 free patterns using our favorite knitting techniques.

May’s design is Cordelia by Allyson Dykhuizen. This unique design is inspired by the Carbide & Carbon building in Chicago, Illinois. Knit in the round from the bottom up, the Carbide Checks motif is repeated throughout the body of the hat and decreases are integrated in the pattern for the crown, mimicking the art deco style seen throughout the classic Chicago landmark.

Buy a kit from our site or ask for it at your LYS!

Worthy of Note
This Art Deco inspired hat is worked in the round from
the bottom up. Beginning with a tubular cast on, a ribbing
is worked before transitioning into the Carbide Checks
pattern. Integrated decreases shape the crown.

Written for two sizes in two different lengths, you can mix
and match the circumference and height for your preferred
fit!
