This cowl was designed specifically for the 2021 Sierra Nevada Yarn Crawl, as the crochet pattern for Yarn Refuge in Reno, NV. I’m honored to be a featured designer here for the 2nd year in a row!

Once again, I got the opportunity to use Bella Yarn hand dyed yarn, in special SNYC colors that truly represent the Sierra Nevada region.

I used about 75g of the variegated color and about 65g of the tonal color for this cowl. You can easily choose to make this cowl a bit larger or a bit smaller.

This is a pretty beginner friendly pattern - the most complicated stitch is the bean stitch. You can find many YouTube tutorials on how to complete this stitch. The piece is worked flat and then the short ends are seamed to form a circle.
