The Cornerstone socks are inspired by the yellow brick road from “The Wizard of Oz” by L. Frank Baum. These fun socks incorporate knit in the round, purl in the round, slipped stiches, wrap and turns, a provisional cast on, and picking up stitches. This is a toe-up pattern with both written and charted directions.

Yarn requirements are 400 yards/366 meters of fingering weight yarn. Other supplies needed include scrap yarn, small crochet hook, stitch markers, and tapestry needle.

Gauge is 34 stitches to 4in/10cm in stockinette stitch in the round on a US2/2.75mm.

There are three sizes, which are determined by circumference: Small 6.5in/16.5cm around, Medium 7.5in/19cm around, and Large 8.5in/21.6cm around (measure the ball of your foot and select the size with approximately 2in/5cm of negative ease). The length of the foot and leg are customizable, however, additional yarn may be necessary for excessive length.

“The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.” Psalm 118:22
