Meet Ovid and Rona, the Crochet Coronavirus. They’re very much the guests that have come uninvited into our homes and are refusing to leave. Really at this point they need no introduction.

The Crochet Coronavirus pattern is designed as an intermediate pattern but has several options within the pattern to make it accessible to an ambitious beginner as well.

The Crochet Coronavirus is great to share with friends and loved ones as a stress relief medium. Stay Home, Stay Safe, Stay Well, Take Care, and Happy Crocheting!

PATTERN INFORMATION

  • Your PDF purchase includes written instructions and helpful photographs to aid in construction.
  • The pattern is written in English using US crochet terminology.

SKILLS NEEDED

  • The skill level needed is intermediate (but ambitious beginners are always encouraged to try and there are options within the pattern that are simpler than others).
  • The techniques you will need to know include: chain, single crochet, slip stitch, slip stitch, increase, invisible decrease, working in the back bar of a chain, and the adjustable ring.

MATERIALS NEEDED
+ To complete the Crochet Coronavirus you will need: yarn in your choice of colors (about 219 yds total of worsted/aran), a size E/4 (3.5 mm) crochet hook, stitch markers, tapestry needle, stuffing, pins, scissors, and a chopstick or similar item to help with stuffing. Optionally you will need: White embroidery floss, an embroidery needle, a disc needle puller, and a measuring tape.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Using hook size E/4 (3.5 mm) the Crochet Coronavirus measures approximately 7 inches tall by 6 inches wide, and approximately 18 inches in circumference (at the widest point) before any spikes or other additions are added.
