This pretty shawlette is worked top down from a garter tab start and is ideal for when you need something warm around your neck or shoulders. Wear it bandit-style with the point in front or wrapped around your shoulders and fastened with a pretty pin or brooch.
The shawlette measures 16”/40.5cm down the central spine and 48”/122cm across the top edge after blocking when worked to pattern tension. Pattern tension is measured over one pattern repeat of Chart B, which measures 3”/7.5cm wide and 1.5”/4cm high. Acheving exact pattern tension is not vital but it may affect your finished shawlette size and yarn yardage required if you do not.
The pattern is meant for experienced or adventurous intermediate knitters. Each chart only shows one half of each row. You should work all chart rows from right to left across the first half of the shawl and then back from left to right on the second half of the row to create a mirror image.

You will need:
350 yds (320m) fingering weight yarn
3.75mm (US5) knitting needles
4 stitch markers
Darning needle (for weaving in ends)

You need to be able to: read charts (lace pattern is charted only) and to be able to work the chart from right to left then from left to right, work common increases and decreases (YO, SSK, K2tog, double decreases), work a garter tab start
