CORVALYX THE ABYSSAL BLOOM

Corvalyx is part of my Dreamspawn Collection, and is somewhat Lovecraftian inspired.

At first, you think you’ve stumbled upon a breathtaking coral reef—but then it shifts, drifting closer. A radiant terror of the deep reveals itself, tentacles undulating in hypnotic patterns. A shimmering light lures you nearer, and only too late do you realize the truth: a vast, shadowed maw yawns open, ready to swallow you whole.

MATERIALS:
4.5MM HOOK - 3.5MM HOOK for the anemone
You will need a lot of different colors of yarn, I believe I used 20 different colors. The color choices are up to you, but I will note the colors I used at the beginning of each piece. I used worsted weight for the body, leg & tentacle pieces, DK weight for the coral pieces, & fingering weight for the teeth. Embroidery floss or crochet thread would also work for the teeth.
6 safety eyes - eyes can all be matching or you can mix them up.
Stuffing, stitch markers, scissors, yarn needle.
This is a very forgiving pattern, as he is supposed to be kind of misshapen. If you realize your numbers are off, just fix it in the next round.
I have written 12 different patterns for coral, plus anemones, a sea urchin and a sea star. Make as many, or few as you want to make your monster look the way you want him to.
Special stitches used in this pattern are the bobble stitch and popcorn stitch. All popcorn stitches are made with 3DC, all bobble stitches are made with 3DC.
This is a long pattern, he took me a little more than 20 hours over a ten day period to fully finish.
