March | Orange Transformed with Grey

How easy it is to be transported back to a place or space in time by a simple scene …

My mother is a keen gardener and growing up I was surrounded by a vast array of plants and flowers. The purple Hydrangea’s dotted around our neighbourhood instantly reminded me of the garden of my childhood.

As the warm southern hemisphere light danced across the petals I was reminded of this beautiful skein and knew I wanted to capture these round spheres of petals in my sock design for this month.

Corymb is the botanical name used to describe the shape of the flowerhead.
