This project is inspired by the abundant and varied wildlife of Costa Rica. The Shetland style shawl is knit using garter stitch charts inspired by the fer de lance, tree frogs, octopii and land crabs. Like traditional Shetland shawls, there are no resting rows, pattern stitches are knit on the right and wrong sides.

This is a charted pattern.
